What do you want out of a relationship?

I was thinking about what I want out of a relationship and although I’m still working that out, a few things come to mind:

1. Fun. To share laughter and active pursuits like sports and travelling.

2. Honesty. To promise to tell the truth whatever the costs.

3. Spirituality. He must believe in God or at least something bigger than him.

4. Respect. To be treated as though I am worthy of his time and attention.

5. Security. Emotional and physical. I want to feel protected physically and secure in the knowledge that I come first for him.

6. Independence. I want to continue to have my own life, career and friends that are separate from him. I must always have an identity outside of my relationship with him.
